Hi, have a sunroof want to put into the ute, and, wondering if there's anything to be careful of. Eg, say, structural stuff, placement for sun in eyes etc. Thanks for your help. Cheers. Plan to use a jigsaw. Hoping not to bodge it up, your feedback appreciated.

Do a Cardboard patt of the size you need to do then mark it out on the roof and check it again as once you cut it then theres no turning back , there is no support backets in the middle of the roof just padding to stop the drumming sound on the roof , also you need to drop the hood lining as the have ribbs the hold the fabric up then use a nipper the cut the hole not a jigsaw as the going to vibrate like fuck on metal .I can put the roof ling back in for some drinks , well cut it to suit if you want as thats what i do as a trade but you might have to come to me .

there is a support rib in the roof,it has two bolts either side and is glued to the roof,i would be careful when cutting it,personally i would go and talk to some professional sunroof fitters first!!

hi
stalled with the sunroof idea at the moment being as a friends mate, a mechanic, was over today and reckons that all the windows might break if i cut a hole in the roof, otherwise costs heaps at the only place in town, so will havta have another beer and think about all this, anyway he reckons its a real drag with the sun beating down on ya too having had sunroofs in the past himself and all, but am still thinkin' about choppin' it in 'though, anyway cheers

it would be if the sunroof wasn't tinted.... and because it's not one of the normal windows, you can go 0% tint if you so choose.

hi, the sunroof is already dark tinted, being about the same shade as the windows in the flexiglass canopy
sunroof is 95 cm x 50 cm and looks to be a good fit
it comes from sweden
marked renault, winds up about 15 cm
a mate holidaying bought it at a wreckers there, it's to big for volvos, and he sent it back
sunroof not a real priority at the moment
will swing by prestige sunroofs soon for some advice and a job price
cheers
