The Future Of PES

Hi all, Long time no see...
As your well aware I haven't been active for close to 2 years... my motivation has dwindled and have since taken up other "hobbies".
Although I haven't been an active member of PES for ages i hate to see one of my projects die like i believe is happening.
So i am looking to hand PES on to someone who can give it the attention it deserves and make the site and cruises grow.
Seeing as the site has been going well without me it wont be too hard for someone to take over from me.
The only costs involved in running of the site are the web hosting and domain, the web hosting is payed up till 13/04/2011 and costs $239.40 AUD/per year, the domain is payed up till 14/11/2011 and costs $14.95 AUD/per year.
So as you can see its not that expensive to run
you don't need to be experienced in being an admin just don't do something you don't know what your doing and the site will be fine.
Regards,
Kyle

Long time no see, I hope your doing well. I can understand that you have moved on, however there probably aren't too many people willing to take on admin of the site. I've had enough troubles with wcc, its basically dead atm. But at least I have the knowledge to take over. If no one else on the admin/mod team wants to take over in a couple of months, then I suppose I'll put my hand up. Wasn't really planning on looking after two sites, but if no one else will do it I don't want PES to die. I like it here, and I like the mods. Let me know mate, and I wish you well with your new hobbies.

Good to hear from you Kyle, even under the circumstances of deciding to hand over PES. As carl said dont be a stranger mate :) As talks with Sled last night I would be keen to take over and go co-ownership with a few people if they are interested in keeping PES alive. As I have had experience running a forum before and know a few people that could help me if i ran into any problems

I can see what you are saying about a dip in the clubs enthusiasm lately but I believe there are still a heap of guys on here including myself that will do anything to keep it going strong!!
I think powercruise 2010 will be a bit of a turning point for the club and we can really get things goin again! I have never run a site/club before but I am keen to help cover the costs of running the site that's no dramas!

Good to hear from you Kyle. I've never met you but I sure do appreciate what you have done with this forum. I have met some great people and become good friends with members from this forum.
Thanks for all your hard work to set it all up.
I think a good way for PES to go forward is to employ a dedicated and active group of Mods/Admin to look after proceedings. This group will all have equal ability to moderate the forums and to contribute to the general housekeeping/running of the whole site. I would also expect this group to not only be active in their position as mod/admin but to also just be a good, contributing member to the forums - someone who can/does offer advice/insight and encouragement and attend PES events as often as they can etc...
As Craig mentioned earlier, he and I did discuss this last night and I believe we came up with some good ideas to improve PES. It's gonna take a little bit of work and may take a while to implement these improvements, however, I certainly believe it will pay off in the long run. Carl also had some good ideas to improve PES.
I'm happy to volunteer my services to ensure that PES continues and improves.
Please keep this discussion going guys. Express your ideas and thoughts.
To those of you who have offered to chip in for expenses - Good Stuff! However, money isn't what we need right now :D
